30 Days of Indie Travel | What European City do I Most Want to Visit, Day 16
Drikke vin means drink wine in Danish, and this is exactly what I was doing last night which lead me to an affirmative post for Day 16. Last night's terroir-driven Mediterranean wine/olive oil/sea salt tasting event here in Charlottenlund, provided my hands down answer of Sicily! (Technically not a city, but a region/province of Italy.)
I want to meet the people and see what they are really like. While they make know how to make a meal with passion, I also want to make them a meal with equal fervor. Share some Mt Etna wines. Kick a football. Listen to their stories. Or just sit and be quiet offering friendship as best I can, hoping they know how much I appreciate giving and sharing life's many great passions. I know it will just be beautiful even if I have to wait until after 10pm to get Pasta alla Norma, then so be it.
Here is a link to an enticing travel webpage: Sicily Vacations. Love, Sharon

Life Lately
I've been playing with mosaics a lot and here is one from my Charlottenlund life lately. The cool air has really crept in on me today and I think it may soon be time to head towards the sea at least for one last swim.
Enjoy your weekend! Love, Sharon

The Bread Station | Charlottenlund
When I return from the beach or a walk in the woods, I sometimes end up near the Charlottenlund Station; which is an urban railway system with sections of tracks that are out in the open. The velocity of the these electric-powered trains speeding by and then stopping (braking) makes a very distinctive noise and sends a little rush up my spine.
After walking around for several hours, a small coffee/snack break is much needed, and so I like to stop at a place called The Bread Station. I was a bit skeptical when I first saw the sign for it, since this place was actually located at the train station! But as soon as I checked it out further, I knew I had to try it.
Actually, I keep making excuses to go back. The Bread Station is an organic bakery with just a few tables and chairs for guests, both in and outside. You can have freshly baked bread and cakes, and delicious coffee drinks. Very recommendable! Love, Sharon

Gentofte Flea Market | Charlottenlund
Last Sunday I was strolling around and came across a huge gathering of cars, people, bikes, noise... Turned out to be a weekly flea market behind the train station. It was beyond any expectations I would have had, had I had any!
I left the flea market with a new (old) pair of lace-up boots by Angulus, which were only 20 DKK and a Samsonite hard-shell suitcase, which will be a replacement for the failed one I bought from the Goodwill in Prescott, Arizona.
Note that the official name of the flea market is Gentofte Loppemarked (flea market), but most people refer to it as Charlottenlund flea market.
p.s. There are lots of wild blackberry bushes in this area and will revisit the bushes on my next foraging trip :-) Love, Sharon

Beach Life in Charlottenlund, Denmark
I have been very fortunate with the weather so far, although I'm starting to feel fall coming as of yesterday when the winds, surprise bursts of rain, and lower temperatures hit Charlottenlund.
Here are a few impressions from my days spent at Charlottenlund Beach and the Sobad. I go there on foot from my home exchange flat/apartment, which is only about a 20 minute walk and I even get to pass through the woods.
I swim in the sea, I eat a snack sometimes and play solitary (cards) while drinking "take-away" coffee. I get sunburned as if I was a teenager again; I walk on the beach and look for things to collect. If I am feeling really beside myself, I'll take a nap in the shadow under my towel.
This is what life has been about for the past week and I can't complain. Love, Sharon
